Privacy notice

We collect the minimum needed to run the server: your Minecraft username, a scrambled (hashed) password if you register, your IP address, and records of what happens in game. We do not sell data, show ads, or use tracking or analytics on this website. You can ask us to delete your data at any time on Discord.

Who we are

Waves Gamer is a free Minecraft server run by Tarang Patel in the United Kingdom, who is responsible for your data. Contact us in the Waves Gamer Discord (#mc-support).

What we collect when you play

  • Username and Minecraft ID — to give you an account, ranks, playtime and balances.
  • Password — only if you register with /register; it is stored hashed, never in plain text.
  • IP address — for login security, to enforce one account per connection, and to stop cheaters and ban evasion.
  • Game records — block changes, chat and commands are logged so griefing can be rolled back and rules enforced.
  • Votes — when you vote on a server-list site, that site sends us your username so we can pay your reward.

Why we use it (lawful basis)

  • Running your account and the game you asked to play — contract (UK GDPR Art 6(1)(b)).
  • Security, anti-cheat, one-account-per-person and rule enforcement — our legitimate interests in keeping the server safe and fair (Art 6(1)(f)).

What other people can see

  • Leaderboards on this website and in the lobby show your username with your coins, player kills, hours played and votes. Ask on Discord and we will leave you off.
  • In-game chat is relayed to our Discord server, where its members can read it.
  • Clips on our YouTube, Facebook and Instagram can show usernames that were on screen. Ask on Discord and we will blur or remove yours.

On this website

  • No accounts, no forms, no analytics and no advertising trackers.
  • The page remembers on your own device (browser storage) that you closed the Discord pop-up, so it does not show again for 7 days.
  • Your browser loads fonts from Google Fonts and the live player count from mcsrvstat.us; both see your IP address as part of loading them.
  • Links to Discord, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram and server-list sites take you to services with their own privacy policies.

How long we keep it

  • 12 months without joining and we delete your account and everything tied to it: login, ranks, balances, skills, stats, votes and your OneBlock island.
  • Server logs and block, chat and command records are deleted once they are 12 months old, whether you still play or not.
  • Backups are replaced within 2 months, so deleted data is gone from them after that.
  • Builds you placed in a shared world stay part of that world.
  • You can ask us on Discord to delete your data sooner, at any time.

Your rights

You can ask for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or object to how we use it — message us on Discord. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Younger players

Minecraft is played by all ages. We do not ask for your age and collect only what is listed above. A parent or guardian can ask us on Discord to delete a child's data.
